Morgan Whitfield, Pastor
Pastor Morgan Whitfield is the Pastor of The Presbyterian Church of Radford (PCR). He and his wife Gwen moved from Forest, VA to Radford in early 2024. Previously, Pastor Whitfield served Forest Presbyterian Church as Pastor and Head of Staff beginning in 2009. Prior to his service there, he served as Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Donalsonville, GA. Pastor Whitfield received his BA with distinction in Political and Social Thought from the University of Virginia, and his Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education. He has studied at U California-Berkeley, Notre Dame University, U Miss, U Bern (Switzerland), and recently received his Doctorate of Ministry in Gospel and Culture from Columbia Theological Seminary.
Pastor Whitfield is a leader in worship and pastoral care, a strong communicator and collaborator, a believer in strategy and vision, and a lifelong learner. He is warm, personable, and looks forward to greeting the members of our congregation and community each week. He is actively involved in the Radford community and serves on the Board of the Radford-Fairlawn Daily Bread which provides meals at no cost to people in the community.


Mary Collins
Office Manager
Mary was born and raised and still lives in Hiwassee. She graduated from New River Community College, and has a very spoiled Jack Russell named John. Mary loves holidays and loves to travel and check out new places. She loves flowers but thinks she has a brown thumb. Mary is a primary contact for our church, and can be reached at pcofradford@gmail.com.

Patty Oakley
Director of Christian Education
Patty is married to Greg Oakley. They have 3 adult children, a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law as well as one grandson and one granddaughter. Patty is a graduate of Radford University with a BS in Biology and Secondary Education. In her spare time she loves being outdoors enjoying God’s creation, reading and anything involving her grandchildren.

Denise Ritter Bernardini
Director of Music
In addition to performing, Denise has held many choral conducting positions on the University level, in churches and in community choir settings.
Dr. Bernardini is a sought-after clinician, teacher, presenter, and author. In 2023 Denise and her co-author Toni Crowder released a book called “The Mindfulness of Singing.” It has been featured on podcasts, videocasts, workshops, and clinics throughout the US. It has also been listed on the best seller list on Amazon.
Pat Brown
Pianist and Organist
Pat Brown is a native of the Roanoke Valley, living for the last 50 years in Radford. A graduate of Longwood College, Pat started her career as a high school teacher of Psychology and Biology. Her next career was a lifetime endeavor as a social justice activist in the quest for equal rights for women in hopes of bringing us closer to living in a world of peace and justice for all. All along the way, Pat has been a musician, playing piano and organ in churches. Pat is married to Howard Brown and they have two children and six grandchildren.
